Who is Sanaa Liggans ✖️ Radiant Rage?

My name is Sanaa Liggans aka Radiant Rage, a multi-award winning filmmaker, director, producer, and spoken word artist from the DMV. Although film is my main medium, I explore many other mediums such as art, photography, and creative directing. My role as an independent creative consultant and media specialist throughout the years has been nothing short of rewarding. Iam also a founding member of Freedom Futures Collective (FFC), a multi award winning creative arts incubator dedicated to providing young professional artists essential resources to thrive and build the FREEDOM future they dream and deserve. 

Observing the world around me has always been my fuel for inspiration. Finding stories in any and everything, constantly being inspired by real life. Film allows me to capture the beauty, pain, and everything in between to share it with others through a visual lens. I find passion and comfort in having the ability to tell stories through a medium that everyone has found some sort of familiarity with.

For me, it's not only about capturing certain stories; it's about my ability to craft and personalize narratives that resonate in the hearts of the people who witness them. 

My love of storytelling and exploring different worlds is due to one place. The library. The nostalgic perfume of aged books, the warm hug of freshly printed paper, and the inviting worlds that seep through the pages. The beautiful library. The place I owe it all to. 

One of the most intriguing elements about the stories that I read in my books during my times in the library, was that they all started with one thought. One idea. One dauntless person who just wanted to create something. That's exactly who I wanted to be. I not only wanted to have an idea, I wanted to create from that idea. In film, directing is a space in which I found I could be that person. Bringing a story to life with so many unique elements to make it your own felt like a dream to me. My approach and perspective on storytelling beautifully filter into my poetry, my stories, my life, and my films. 

My strongest desire is to create meaningful, real and compelling stories; always with an end goal to inform, inspire, or influence my audience. This allows me to captivate the part of ourselves we never grow out of but always seem to grow apart from.
